Tried adding a new user with admin rights and password.
Still same scenario.
Why is there no app permissions entered in the authorised security?
I have tried un-installing and re-installing and still no permissions, maybe that’s why I can only see my Playbook files and never more than 1 ip address in the search. 🙁
I0m not sure about permissions, I don’t have my Playbook here right now, but on simulator does not appear either, it might be right, perhaps android apps are not showed. On BB10 they are.
Might you have any active firewall on your machine?
You can try force port. Edit the server on NSFE and instead of only the ip add
Sure! thousands of people have it working.
In last comments, Ridder has it working, he is only having problems with a modem with a usb device, but his computers work fine. In this kind of situations first thing to be sure on is our network is working fine between other devices.
What I was saying, add a new host and istead of the ip address “only” try adding ip address with port 139 and 445 this way:
192.168.1.10:139
192.168.1.10:445
try one first and then the other one.
Does any of these work?
The app works fine conecting to my Ubuntu media store but the media player is limiting. What file formats will it play? It doesn’t like .mov for sure. Seems to crash on a lot of media files.
It works with the same formats Playbook can play.
Keep into account that not all mp4 files can be streamed, if one mp4 does not work (and works on PB), you have to hint the file, you can google for some help.
Not any mp4 can be streamed by default, it’s not an app limitation, it’s an mp4.
Assuming file works fine on Playbook you have to “hint” mp4 files to allow streaming.
Thanks.. That did it like a charm.. I am using the mp4box utility from the gpac framework..
Your support is greatly appreciated. I am understanding the nuances of mp4 a little bit better now.
I am trying to install Net Shares File Explorer on my Playbook from Blackberry Apps World. But I got an error message during the installation process (it never finish): “Install Error: [0008] There was a problem during installation. Please try again”. I did try to re-download/reinstall it multiple times. I reboot my Playbook and try few more times… but doesn’t work.
Any solution ?
I can’t connect. My computer adress is 192.168.0.107 on my local network and when I write this adress in HOST and then click on COnnect it’s show me ”unable to connect unknown host”
I have send you some screenshots by mail

i.e.

And let’s see what happens.
Not sure what this means..This is getting a bit deep for me now.
Has anyone out there got this working on a Playbook?

@Foxy,
192.168.1.10 is just a sample, put there your PC ip address.
Hi,
Good app. Just one one question. How can I select and copy multiple files at the same time.
Thanks and best regards
Bob
@BobGal,
You can’t, only files and folder can be copied so far.
Hope to add thi feature on future releases.

Hi,
I have problems playing media files. It works for some mp4 files but no others. Any idea what could be the problem.

Assuming file works fine on Playbook you have to “hint” mp4 files to allow streaming.
Search something like this for info about how to do it:

@Dx,
Great!
Happy to read that 🙂
I should add this info to this web …

@fp,
There are many forums about this issue.
Have you taken a look into them?

@Mike,
Can you access your shares from other computers? I mean, is everything working fine?
Do your shares have user/pass or are they annonymous?
@ mike. I had very same issue and have since given up on this app. Was going round in circles and for the price thought sod it.
Hope this helps 🙁
