    @David McIntosh,

    Yes! I tried it and worked fine, so it’s better than the other solution 🙂

    Thanks for your feedback!

    Hi, I’m trying to connect to my maxtor central axis drive. I normally use the samba syntax:
    http://userid:passwd@ipaddr/home and I connect.
    Net shares isn’t connecting. Is there any syntax that will help me connect that I didn’t try yet?

    Thank you

  3. Pedalshoe says:

    Sorry that samba syntax starts with smb..
    smb://userid:passwd@ipaddr/home

    Not http.. Is. There anything I need to do.. Or not supported?

    Thanks

      @pedalshoe,

      Add a new host with your data, ip address, user and password.nothing more, i.e.:
      Host: 10.10.10.1
      User: your user
      Pass: your pass.

      Save and try to connect.

    I get unknown username or bad password pop up message.

    How do I specify the directory /home. For instance?

    • Editor says:

      @Pedalshoe,

      Shouldn’t be necesary, but in hostname try: ip/home. i.e.

      10.10.1.2/home

      What happens?

  5. Pedalshoe says:

    It starts to show the files screen but it flips back to the shares select screen right away and shows the same error message: unknown username or bad password.

  6. Editor says:

    @Pedalshow,

    so, to be sure I have understood, it connects and starts showing the files but never finishes listing, instead it closes back.
    Is that?

  7. Manuel says:

    I got the App recently. been trying for days to hook up with my pc (Window 8). After setting up the pc’s ip and the unsername and password of it, it simply does NOT connect. Give me “Unknown Username or bad password”

  8. Manuel says:

    Same problema for me… Shows a glimpse and right away gives me the error “Unknown Username or bad password.

  9. Pedalshoe says:

    It starts to show the screen then quickly slides back to the shares select screen and displays the error message.

    • Editor says:

      @Pedalshoe,
      Please, check files and folders on your remote folder is there any of them without reading permissions?
      That’s the only thing I can think about. It you can connect and see files and folder things must be working fine but there is something wrong if it closes.
      Try to review perms and let’s see what happens.

    Still here, waiting for some support… Not connecting to my pC. Windows 8;: Would like to know what is goin on?

    • Editor says:

      @Manuel,

      Can you connect to your shared folder from other computers in your network?
      This is the first step to check everything is working fine.

    Using this great net shares app on a BlackBerry Q10.

    Does anyone know if there is a way to get a full-screen display on a TV, of a video being played through this app. I am using the HDMI attachment, but unfortunately the video plays as a small square on the TV. Thanks!

    • Editor says:

      @Robert,
      I’m not sure, I will try with my Q10 tomorrow and see.
      Anyway, have you tried playing with hdmi and screen options on settings? I think ther might be womthing to do with it…

  12. Robert says:

    Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I did play with the settings – on both the Q10 and the TV. No luck. Let me know what you come up with. Thanks!

  13. Editor says:

    @Robert,

    Very bad news! It seems it can’t be done, only native video player can work on html full screen. There are a lot of issues like this:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-q10-f272/blackberry-q10-hdmi-full-screen-landscape-819158/
    http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-q10-f272/cant-use-q10-hdmi-output-widescreen-presentations-video-819188/
    http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-10-os-f269/stretch-hdmi-output-q10-816474/

    And more and more…
    This makes the Q10 hdmi useless for any kind of streaming service or video players…

    I’ll try to find support on dev forums, maybe I can do something programatically.

  14. Robert says:

    Well, it’s better to know where we’re at than still seeking answers – thanks! Looking forward to what you come up with.

    Again, thank-you!
